Koch Foods, a leader in the U.S. poultry processing industry, is seeking a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing ammonia-based refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards at our processing plants. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of refrigeration units and systems. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Monitor system performance and adjust settings to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Respond to emergency breakdowns or system failures and quickly implement effective solutions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, system performance, and refrigerant usage in compliance with company and regulatory policies. Collaborate with facility management and other team members to discuss system issues and improvements. Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in refrigeration technology and safety protocols. Profound knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, including troubleshooting and repairs. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment. Capability to handle physical demands of the job including working in cold environments, lifting heavy objects, and standing for long periods. EPA 608 Certification - Universal or at least Type II. RETA CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) certification or similar is highly preferred.
